Announcements regarding cancellation of classes will be made by written communication through the student (if possible) and over the following television and radio stations:
KGBT T.V. KGBT RADIO KKPS RADIO
KRGV T.V. KZSP RADIO KBFM RADIO
Announcements will normally be made the night before or early in the morning.
It is our practice not to send students home early once classes have started for the day. Many parents are not at home and assume that their children will be at school the entire day. This practice will only be changed if we have an unexpected emergency.
Please remember that the district will always err on the side of student safety with regards to having classes when a hurricane is in the Gulf.
The district will transport local families to designated evacuation center located in Hidalgo and Starr counties. Call your city hall to determine the bus pick-up and departure times.
