POINT ISABEL ISD
STUDENT UNIFORM POLICY
The
Point Isabel Independent School District has
a Student Uniform Policy (FNCA-Local) in
place for the Garriga and
Derry
Elementary and Port Isabel Junior High
School. The purpose for this Board Policy
is to instill discipline, prevent
disruption, and avoid safety hazards. The
goal is to have a safe and disciplined
learning environment. Among the objectives
are to decrease potential violence and theft
among students over designer clothing, help
prevent gang member identification, help
parents and students resist peer pressure
and to help school officials recognize
intruders who come to schools. Please
contact your child's school to find out what
uniform is required. The District has a
Student Uniform Waiver Procedure. The parent
or guardian must complete a School Uniform
Waiver Form which can be obtained at Central
Office. These forms must be submitted
between
August 1 and the first day of class. |
