Four GT students submitted winning art entries for the Friends of Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge Art Contest: Draw for the Ocelot!  Before entering the contest first and second grade GT students researched ocelots and their habitat and studied pictures of them. All drawings submitted were to highlight the ocelots or their habitats. Their drawings were on display at the Ocelot Conservation Festival  on February 13, 2010 at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. The first and second place winners will have their drawing included in a calendar also available at the festival. All of the proceeds from calendar sales go toward protecting ocelots and their habitat. The top winners received a t-shirt featuring their drawing, a calendar and an Annual Refuge Pass good for free entry for one year into the Laguna Atascosa and Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuges.
