What is Cybersecurity?
Texas law specifically defines cybersecurity to mean the measures taken to protect a computer, computer network, or computer system against unauthorized use or access. (Tex. Educ. Code 11.175(a)(3).
- phishing attacks resulting in the disclosure of personal data
- ransomware attacks
- can use computers, mobile phones, gaming systems, and other devices
- malware - malicious software such as a computer virus, spyware, Trojan horses, and keyloggers
- social engineering - the psychological manipulation of individuals to obtain confidential information; often overlaps with phishing
