Celebrating Port Isabel Early College High School Students Selected for Hispanic Scholarship Fund's 2023 Youth Leadership Institute

Ian Hernandez: A Bright Mind Ready to Shine One of the selected students, Ian Hernandez, has been granted the opportunity to attend the Youth Leadership Institute at the esteemed University of Chicago. From June 28 to July 2, 2023, Ian will immerse himself in a transformative experience, acquiring essential skills, tools, and knowledge that will empower him to navigate the college application and financial aid process effectively. Alongside his peers, Ian will be equipped to pursue his dream colleges and start shaping his future career path.

Lara Baldovinos, Julie Mar, and Christus Martinez: Embracing a Journey of Excellence Additionally, three remarkable students, Lara Baldovinos, Julie Mar, and Christus Martinez, have been invited to attend the Youth Leadership Institute at the renowned University of Southern California. From July 19 to 23, 2023, they will engage in a transformative experience, similar to Ian's, where they will develop invaluable skills to navigate the college application process and secure financial aid. This program will empower them to forge their own path towards success and unlock their full potential.

Empowering the Future Scholars The Youth Leadership Institute not only provides these students with a transformative experience but also paves the way for their future academic endeavors. Upon successful completion of the YLI program, Ian, Lara, Julie, and Christus will earn the coveted designation of HSF Scholar. This designation will make them eligible to be considered for HSF Scholarships when they enter college, opening doors to further educational opportunities and financial support.
