Registration for Exam for Acceleration without prior instruction is being held at all campuses for grades
Kindergarten – 12. The students in grades K-5 will need to score 80 percent or above on a criterionreferenced
test for the grade level to be skipped in each of the following areas: language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students in grades 6-12 can receive credit for an academic subject in which the student has received no prior instruction if the student scores 80 percent or above on a criterion-referenced examination for acceleration for the applicable course.

Parents are required to submit letter of intent along with a $25.00 refundable deposit for each
examination requested to the office of Curriculum & Instruction located in the central office building at
101 Port Road, Port Isabel, Texas. The deadline to submit the letter and deposit is Friday, July 21, 2023.
The deposit will be returned once the student completes the exams. The examination dates are August
7-10, 2023.
