🌟🌟The Silver Tarpon Band competed at the Area Championships in Calallen on November 2nd against 26 other 4A bands. The students had a great performance in the preliminary round and placed 10th overall to advance to finals for a chance to compete for one of the top 5 spots to advance on to the State Marching Contest. The students had the best show of the year that evening and jumped up 3 spots to 7th place. We missed qualifying for the State Marching Contest by 2 spots (only 2 points away in total scores). We are extremely proud of the collective efforts and hard work our students have put in since July and how much they have grown into an even more amazing student themselves. We extremely grateful for our band directors on what they have worked hard for all year and how much they continue to do for our students. We are very thankful for the amazing administrative support we get from the junior high, high school, central office, and everybody else. Thank you again for the opportunities you continue to provide for us as we strive for the best success in everything we do. #TARPONPRIDE 🌟🌟

🌟🌟HISTORY WAS MADE AGAIN FOR OUR BAND PROGRAM AND POINT ISABEL ISD! 🌟🌟
Two of our Silver Tarpon Band members, Mark Mejorado and Sean Selvas, made the decision along with their directors to pursue the more rigorous Texas Music Educators Association All-Region process this year. These two gentlemen auditioned for the TMEA orchestra and if a high enough placement is achieved, they advance directly to the area round. After much hard work and dedication, Mr. Mark Mejorado earned 1st CHAIR FLUTE and Sean Selvas earned 1st CHAIR TUBA, earning a placement in the 6A TMEA Orchestra and advanced to the Area round for 6A!
THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT GOING AGAINST 5A AND 6A STUDENTS! We are extremely proud and humble to have such high achieving and motivated students!
