PORT ISABEL, TX – On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Port Isabel Early College High School proudly hosted a signing day ceremony to honor three outstanding student-athletes who have committed to continuing both their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Surrounded by proud family members, coaches, teammates, and school administrators, seniors Steven Martinez, Daniel Galvan, and Ty Conaster officially signed their National Letters of Intent during a special event held in the high school gymnasium.
Signing Athletes Include:
Steven Martinez – Signing with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
4-year letterman and 4-year starter at Offensive Guard
4-time All-District honoree
2-time District 16-4A DII Offensive Lineman of the Year
All-State Honorable Mention (Junior Year)
Academic Honor Mention (Senior Year)
Starter in the 2025 RGVCA East All-Star Game
Daniel Galvan – Signing with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
3-year letterman and 3-year starter
2-time District 16-4A All-District Team member
Starter in the 2025 RGVCA East All-Star Game
Ty Conaster – Signing with William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri
2-year letterman and senior-year starter
2nd Team All-District 16-4A
2025 Academic All-State honoree
“This event marks a proud moment for the Tarpon Football program, our school, and the Port Isabel community,” said Athletic Director, Tony Villarreal. “These young men have demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership both on the field and in the classroom. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited to see them succeed at the next level.”
The ceremony celebrated not only the athletic accomplishments of these student-athletes but also their academic commitment and the support of their families, coaches, and peers.
