Through Region One’s rootEd initiative, students are gaining meaningful college and career exploration opportunities. 🎓
Juniors and seniors from Port Isabel Early College High School participated in a hands-on experience with the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, expanding their understanding of health careers and postsecondary pathways. Great opportunities for a bright future!

All Point Isabel ISD campuses will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Bus routes will run as usual.
As a precaution, students may wear non-uniform cold-weather attire (coats, jackets, sweatshirts). Blankets will not be allowed on campus.

Inclement Weather Alert: Point Isabel ISD will have a 2-hour or 4-hour instructional time delay on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Parents/guardians may choose to send their child to school at either: a 2-hour delay, or the 4-hour delay (regular attendance will be taken at the four-hour delay).
To ensure all students have access to warm shelter and meals, all campuses and district facilities will open at 9:00 a.m.
Campus Instructional Start Times:
Derry Elementary School: 11:35 AM
Garriga Elementary School: 11:50 AM
Port Isabel Junior High School: 12:05 PM
Port Isabel Early College High School: 12:10 PM
Bus transportation will be provided for both 2 and 4 hour delay.
Bus routes will operate two pick-up times, each delayed from the normal schedule.
(i.e If your regular pick-up time is 6:30 a.m., Monday’s pick-up times will be 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.)
As a precautionary measure, students will be permitted to wear non-uniform clothing, such as warm attire, including coats, sweatshirts, jackets, etc., to ensure their comfort and warmth during this weather event.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority.
