Today, Point Isabel ISD Superintendent joined our Laguna Madre community in honoring the 25th anniversary of the Queen Isabella Causeway collapse. We remember the lives lost, the families forever impacted, and the first responders and community members who came together during this tragedy. Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember, honor, and stand together as one Laguna Madre community. 💙

Today marks 25 years since tragedy struck our Laguna Madre community with the collapse of the Queen Isabella Causeway. On this solemn anniversary, Point Isabel ISD remembers and honors the lives lost and all those forever affected by that tragic day. We also recognize the first responders, law enforcement officers, community members, and countless individuals who stepped forward to help their neighbors during an unimaginable time. In these photos, Garriga Elementary students can be seen traveling by ferry between Port Isabel and South Padre Island in the days following the collapse—a reminder of how our community adapted, persevered, and supported one another. Twenty-five years later, we remember the tragedy, but we also remember the strength and unity that followed. We are more than neighboring communities—we are one community, one Laguna Madre family. We remember. We honor. We stand together. 💙
