Students from Port Isabel ECHS enrolled in the Health Science and Biomedical Science programs of study, under the guidance of Melissa Tapia and Statira Wilmoth, participated in the DHR Health Caring Career Conference. Held at the Port Isabel ECHS small gymnasium, this engaging event provided students with the opportunity to explore diverse career pathways within the health science professions through interactive sessions and meaningful collaborations with medical professionals from DHR Health. Special thanks to Vanessa Vera, DHR Health Senior Manager of High School & Community Outreach, as well as Vanessa Salazar, Director of the PIM Grant at Region One, for their support and continued partnership. This conference exemplifies Point Isabel ISD’s commitment to providing students with rigorous, hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success in college, careers, and the workforce.
