Point Isabel ISD welcomed the Texas Southmost College (TSC) leadership team for a productive meeting focused on expanding dual enrollment opportunities in Culinary Arts, under the direction of Chef Celia Galindo. The agenda centered around implementing a Level 1 Certificate in Culinary, with next steps focused on aligning curriculum, finalizing program logistics, and offering students early access to industry-based certifications that lead to workforce readiness and high-demand careers. This collaboration highlights the district’s continued commitment to expanding industry-based certifications and strengthening career pathways.
The College & Career Readiness Department hosted an informational session on the Laguna Madre Education Foundation CTE Scholarship, a valuable opportunity supporting both PI-ISD seniors and staff in pursuing short-term vocational training, certifications, or technical programs aligned with high-need workforce areas in the Laguna Madre region. In partnership with the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce, this initiative reflects Point Isabel ISD's ongoing commitment to building career-ready pathways that uplift our students, empower and upskill our staff, and strengthen our local community.
